BDJ - Bioderma: Laboratoire Dermatologique (June 2015)

I have been saying time and time again, how I hate sampler sized products in beauty boxes.  Why bother with products are too small to test, to say if they work or not.

June's BDJ is light weight ~  that I was no longer surprised to see how small the contents were. 

I understand that Bioderma is an expensive product, but packing  samplers for subscribers is so disappointing.

Will not say anything more, just check out these pictures to see for yourself.

The box' lone saving grace is this The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain (P795).  I was glad it was there. I took it, placed in my make-up kit and tossed the rest.

BDJ - Kiss Dry Goodbye (May 2015)

 

I love this month's BDJ Box, and what is not to love? 

 

Like the previous months' beauty boxes, BDJ May box is full and heavy packed with products to keep me beautiful.

 

 

 

The box contains body nourishing products, such as: 

 

 

 

1. Garnier Skin Naturals Light Complete Whitespeed Multi-Action Whitening Serum Cream with SPF19/PA+++ (that was a mouthful), 50ml costs ~ P265

 

 

2. Garnier Skin Naturals Light Complete Whitespeed Multi-Action Brightening Scrub, 50ml costs ~ P84

 

 

 

Garnier promises fairer skin with consistent use.  My mom loves whitening products, so she got these loots to go :P. 

 

 

 

3. Colgate Optic White Plus Shine, 100g costs ~ P115 (the box contains 2 packs)

 

We use Colgate at home, I have seen this product line during grocery shopping and have been wanting to try it.  I am happy I got them as part of my box.

 

The Colgate Optic White, whitens teeth by exfoliating teeth stains.

 

4. Aloe Derma Pure Aloe Vera Gel, 45g costs ~ P280

 

This is a multi-purpose gel, that helps protect your skin from dryness and irritation. It promises effective skin repair caused by sun damage such as sunburns.  I can't wait to try this out.

 

 

5. Nivea 3in1 Exfoliating Wipes, 20sheets costs ~ P140.

 

It is an on the go facial exfoliating wipes.  I have been using this product for sometime now and I can attest, how well it works in cleaning my face.  My mom, had her eyes set on this loot though and It was hard to say no.

 

 

5. Assorted Dermal Mask (3 sets) costs ~ P70 each.

 

Another product that is part my beauty regiment are dermal masks.  The Dermal Mask contains nutritional active ingredients to nourish skin and give it the perfect glow you want.

 

6. Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, 85g costs ~ P675

 

 

I got two (2) mini tubes of Ultra Hydrating Lotion ~ for use head to toe use.  This product is very promising, but sad to say the mini tubes, will obviously not go far.

 

 

7. FS Powder Blush, 6.2g costs ~ P350.

 

I have tested Fanny Serrano (FS) cosmetics before and they are comparable to imported brands. It contains Vitamin E for added hydration.

 

 

The box also contains the following sampler sachet:

 

Cure Natural Aqua Gel, 250ml costs ~ P1500.  This gel gently exfoliates and clean skins' dead cells.

 

 

Pure Savon Rose Blend Scent & Classic Floral White/Lily Scent, 300ml costs ~P545. This body wash promises smoother skin. 

 

 

Himawari Dear Beaute' Oil in Shampoo and Conditioner, 500ml costs ~ P695. This shampoo and conditioner brand contains oil to bring back moisture into your hair.

 

 

This month's box estimated cost is P1400+ is so worth my P580 subscription.  Boxes starting August 2015, are priced higher at P1480, but promises double the price paid for.

BDJ -All Things Kawaii (January and February 2015

What is Kawaii?

 

KAWAII is Japanese for "radiant face"

It is all about being lovable, cute and adorable!

 

I was so happy to receive BDJ's first beautybox for 2015, simply titled "Kawaii".

 

 

Just look at these loots!

 

I am so loving this box.  Everything in it is full sized :P

  

Here is what's inside:

1. Sunkiller Perfect Strong Plus, 30ml (P495)

Just perfect for the coming summer month! It has super UV-blocking abilities that stays on skin longer. It is also waterproof and sweat proof.  So awesome this product. Can't wait to give it a try.

2. Bifesta Cleansing Lotion Age Care, 300ml (P419)

I have heard of this product before and I am happy to get a sample to test before actually buying.  This product boasts as being the first water based make-up remover. It is gentle on skin and helps boost skin repair. 


3. Lucido-L Styling Milky Air, 70ml (P295)

Another product I have been hearing of lately is Lucido-L, another brand I have been wanting to test.  Lucido-L Styling Milk Air is a leave on hair treatment, for conditioning and styling hard to manage mane (like mine). I am so using this one.  I also love that it comes in a fruity floral fragrance.

4. Lucido-L Treatment Oil Perm, 50ml (P295)
The Lucido L Treatment Oil in an overnight hair treatment for permed and colored hair, to keep it soft and curly.  


I was also happy to see a BDJ box returning product, Pixy.

This brand, I have tested before.  It is easy to apply and blends well with my skin tone.  It is also handy and chick. However, it doesn't last very long and would need constant retouch about every 3 hours.

5. Pixy Coverlast, 10g (P325)

Pixy promises a long lasting powder foundation with Coverlast, that hides blemishes, for a smooth and even look. It also controls oil and shine.  I think I am going to try this first.

6. Pixy Two Way Cake Fit, 12.5g (P275)

Another Pixy item in the box is Pixy Two Way Cake Fit.  You can use it wet for more coverage or dry for a more natural look.  This product contains squalane, found to keep skin soft and supple.


VERDICT

BDJ continues to impress.   I am really happy with the items I got.  This month's box total costs three times the subscription cost I paid for.  No wonder BDJ boxes are always sold out.

BDJ - CoverGirl Exclusive (December 2014)

My December BDJ box finally came, after being delayed by Typhoon Ruby.  

I checked-out (did the usual shaking and weighing) the box and found it a tad lighter than the previous beauty boxes I have received.  

I opened my box half-hearted (wishing full instead of sampler sized products).  Lo and behold, I saw the COVERGIRL logo.

    

This month's beauty box is a CoverGirl Exclusive  - now this is what I meant by coming back, and with vengeance.  A rush of blood came rushing back my face!  This is by far the best BDJ Box I have received. Talk about saving the best to end the year.    


So here is what's inside:


1. TruBlend Liquid Makeup, 30ml (P645).  It is a liquid foundation that provides smooth full coverage for a flawless natural look.

2. TruBlend Pressed Powder, 11ml (P425).  Has a silky- smooth formula that blends beautifully with all skin tones, perfect for a natural, fresh, no make-up look.

3. Cheekers Blush, 3g (P395). A portable mini-compact blusher that gives you a natural rosy silk flush (will only be available in stores on Feb 2015).

4. Smoky Shadow Blast, 4.6g (P525). For smoky-dramatic eyes in an instant. 

5. LashBlast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara, 12g (P595). It is a super-volumizing fiber-stretched mascara formula with an oversized brush that guarantees to make your lash bigger, fuller and more dramatic. 

VERDICT:

My entire box value is over P2,500!

This box alone is so worth, my last four (4) months subscription.   

I love CoverGirl and BDJ!! 

Two words:  Awesome!  Awesome!

BDJ - Benefit Exclusive - Sweet Shoppe (November 2014)

First let me begin with a confession: "I am not a Benefit Cosmetics avid".    

I have mentioned in a previous post, that I would rather go for less known inexpensive local cosmetic's brands, meant for the Asian skin. That being said, I do not really dislike Benefits Cosmetics totally.  I just find it's price exorbitant, which I guess explains the  small sampler products included in the box.   Well it was not all bad, though, since samplers are easier to stash in your travel adventure kits.

 The box contains a selection of items from the Benefit's Sweet Shoppe, here is what's inside:

 1. It's Potent! Eye Cream, 14g (P1800).  It is an eye cream that helps restore skin's elasticity and protect it from free radicals. 

 2. Big Easy Complexion Perfector, 35ml 9 (P2000). It is a 2-in1 facial coverage that helps control oil, while keeping your face moisturized.

3. Posiebalm Hydrating Lip Balm, 3g (P1000). Posie balm helps hydrate and condition your lips, while giving it a hint of sweet pinkish glow.  


4. Lollitint Lip and Cheek Stain, 12.5ml (P1700). A smudge proof and smooch proof formula for your cheeks and lips all day long.

5. They're Real! Push-Up Line, 1.4g (P1300). It is a water-proof, matte black gel eyeliner than can last up to 24 hours.

 6. They're Real Mascara, 8.5g (P1300). Jet black lash coverage, that can make your lashes gorgeously long and thick without clumping up together.


 7. They're Real! Eye Makeup Remover, 50ml (P1000). It is an eye make-up remover that cleanse without irritating your eyes.

  OTHER ITEMS

• Instant Comeback Facial Serum and Total Moisture Facial Cream. These serum and facial cream helps bring back your skin youthful and natural glow, by keeping it hydrated.

HONEST VERDICT

Some of the items in this month's box were repeats of the June 2014 Box: Let the Beauty Begin!  Repeat items were the Potent Eye Cream, Big Easy Complexion Perfector and Lollitint Lip and Cheek Stain.

I haven't even bothered opening the Potent Eye Cream, which means, now I have 2 unopened eye creams.


I have  finished the Big Easy Complexion Perfector in the June package and I am now using the new one (so that's good).


The June, Lollitint Lip and Cheek Stain, I have opened and used a couple of times, until my August BDJ Box came with my all time favorite, Ofra Long Lasting Lipstick.  The opened Lollitint went to my back-up, make-up kit.


Honestly,  I have not yet used most of these products.  The eyeliner, mascara, lip balm and eye make up remover are currently just hogging spaces inside my make up box (another good thing, they came in small).

BEAUTY BOXES

BDJ - Skin Savers (October 2014)

I am so excited to receive my October 2014 BDJ.  I knew it was special as there were two (2) boxes. 

This month's BDJ is all about maintaining your skin's youthful glow.
And youthful, glowing skin is something we all value.   

I opened the Dial box first and was happy to get full sized Dial products: 

Dial Cleansing Pair
1. Dial Coconut Water Body Wash (473ml, Php 200)
2. Dial Coconut Water Soap (113g, Php 140 for a trio pack)

These came in so timely, as my boys' bodywash are near empty.  My boys love the smell of fresh coconut, and since these were infused with coco water I knew for a fact that it is gentle even on children's skin.  Its main ingredients Coconut water is known to be rich in antioxidants and electrolytes (simply put, keeping your skin hydrated).

The main box was as heavy as the first, which kept me excited. It contains three (3) full side products and three (3) expensive fillers (in tiny packaging).
My Choice Smooth Skin Pack
3. My Choice Spa Salt (500g, Php 100)
This one is a salt scrub packed with anti-oxidants and vitamins. 4. My Choice Hand and Body Lotion (90ml, Php 70)
A creamy lotion concoction of all-natural ingredients, as well as collagen to help nourish and protect your skin from harmful free radicals.

5. Dove Hair Fall Rescue (7ml x 7 vials, Php 470)
A hair loss and hair roots strengthening treatment.  It is infused with Trichazole, Soy Protein and Ginseng that helps reduce damage to the roots. Their formula feeds vital nutrients deep inside your hair defending it from external stress and breakage.

6. Revlon ColorStay 16-Hour Eye Shadow Quad (1.9oz, Php 795)
Beautiful eye color that you can wear for up to 16 hours. This product promises a crease and smudge free, hence a fresh look when applied.

The expensive filler, which would have appreciated if they came in full or at least a week usable packaging (but I guess I am that lucky yet).

• L'Oreal Paris Youth Duo L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Serum (30ml, Php 1500)
  L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser X3 Anti-Aging Day Cream (50ml, Php 1500)

The serum help reduces  fine lines & refines skin texture in continued 4 weeks use, while the day cream help smoothen pores and replump skin. 
 

• Strip RPT Kit Strip Ice Cream (150ml, Php 1750)
  RELIEVE – This smoothing, calming whip delight calms your inflamed skin — perfect as a post-hair removal treatment.
• Malin + Goetz Peppermint Body Scrub (220ml, Php 1650)
  PREVENT – With bamboo and pumice to help shed dead skin, this cooling and creamy scrub will prevent ingrown hair.
• Malin + Goetz Ingrown Hair Cream (15ml, Php 1750)
  TREAT – It contains papaya and pineapple enzyme to eliminate ingrown hair, as well as vitamins B5 and E to repair your skin.

• Yves Rocher Zero Blemish Gel Cream (50ml, Php 795) Product guide says it is formulated with Baikal Powder, which helps  absorb excess sebum and minimizes pores. It hydrates the skin for  full 24 hours so you don't have to worry about over drying your skin.  

My best finds this month in my BDJ Box are the Dial Cleansing Pair (We have been using the Dial Coconut Water body wash and soap and my I love how smooth and moisturized it feels right after bathing) and the Dove Hair Fall Rescue treatment (I have been using this one as well, too soon to tell if its working though).

I have also been using the Yves  Rocher Zero Blemish Gel Cream.  It smells so nice at application and I was surprise it does real wonder to your face, by protecting it from blemish and shine.  It is perfect for my combination type skin.  Now, if only they came in bigger containers. 


This month's box is all worth my P580.

Glamour Box - Flawless Beauty (August 2014)

Is flawless beauty a possibility (chuckles)?  Glamour box,  put together Flawless Beauty themed box for August  2014.  In the box are flaw fixers products  for an almost perfect beauty (hehehe).
Unlike the previous boxes, this one is literally lighter in weight, as I open my loot (...fingers crossed) I was hoping contents are worth my hard-earned P595.

What's inside:

1. Ofra Cosmetics - Long Lasting Lipsticks (in Laguna Beach).  Full size 8g costs P950.  It is a liquid lipstick that promises to nourish your lips with anti-oxidants and Vitamin E.  I am so eager to try this one!  I have long been hunting for a perfect lipstick that lasts and doesn't feather.  I hope this one does the trick.

2. Ellana Minerals

(a) Multi-purpose Mineral Powder in Halo. Full size 1g costs P160. It is an all around color you can use as an eyeliner, eyeshadow, lip color, bronzer and body shimmer.  I have been seeing lots of hype on mineral powders lately. Compared to your traditional liquid or pressed powder formula, mineral powder are actually loose powder.  Experts say this type of makeup contains less irritants and is easier to remove.  I honestly find them quite difficult and a bit messy to apply.

(b) Brilliance and Lip Scrub in Strawberry Vanilla. Full size 10g costs P165.  It helps improve your lips texture by scrubbing you dry and flaking lips.  I love the smell of strawberry vanilla flavor, should be equally good when applied on. I will be trying real soon.  

4. Belo Essentials

(a) AcnePro Pimple Fighting Face Wash - Full size 50ml costs P99.75
(b) Treatment Toner  - Full size 60ml costs P79.75
(c) Pimple Gel - Full size 10g costs P149.75

Pimple fighting is every normal (others are just blessed with naturally pimple free skin) woman's battle, especially when hormones rage just before or after menstruation period. 

Happy to have received this complete pack, it gives me no excuse to keep my skin healthy looking and pimple free.

Active component of the Belo Essentials pack is purified bee venom.  I have read bee venom as a component in beauty products, tricks the skin into thinking it had been stung by a bee, causing the body to direct blood flow towards the area and help stimulate production of collagen, hence strengthening tissue making skin more elastic and youthful (ehem, I am beginning to like this product already!).

5. TRESemm'e - Smooth and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Full size 440ml costs  P275 each.  I am already a TRESemm'e convert and I have been using this product for about a year now. It does wonder for my fizzy and often unmanageable hair.

The samples included are rather small.  I would normally rant about how I hate sampler sized products in beauty boxes, but this time, I actually liked that I got small-on the go sized packs, perfect for my next travel.

As a bonus:
6. Beauty Republic - Original Dramatic BB Tinted Cream and Dramatic Green Touch BB Tinted Cream (I surrender what is a beauty box without sampler sachets?) - Full size 30ml costs P695/pc.  

I have been loving BB and CC creams lately. BBs and CCs even out skin tones and makes your blemishes disappear instantly.  A plus for this product is that they also nourish your skin as they color. 

So these two (2) samplers went straight to my make-up kit.

I surely got my money's worth. My total loot costs would easily add up to P1600 excluding my TRESemm'e and BB samples.

My August Glamour Box surely hit the mark!
