Daddy's Birthday Weekend ~ Amazing at 75

If you are born during typhoon season, you are sure to have lots of rainy (hopefully not flooded) birthday celebration.  It was hard to plan a get-away, so a nearby hot spring-pool party is deemed acceptable.  It is party, where it is actually okay, to get wet (not to mention hot spring water's therapeutic benefits). 


If you are looking for hot spring private pools in Los Banos Laguna~ check Agoda or Airbnb. There is a long list of suitable private pools to fit your budget.  

For my Father's 75th Birthday we decided on renting a 4 bedroom private pool and invite cousins to join us- "they say the more the merrier".

These were delectable and yummy.  High quality and much recommended!

The place we've rented is huge and can fit 20 persons easy. It also has enough parking for 4-5 vehicles.  The venue is well lighted at night, gated and with CCTV, so there is a feeling of added security and safety.  I personally liked that the place is PWD and senior citizen accessible ~ it fits our requirements spot on!

The pool is invitingly lukewarm ~ the children were in the pool the moment we arrived and swam again before leaving.

Celebrating Our Lola's Birthday Luau Style

My Lola just turned 94 years old ~ Luau Style!

Two weeks before her birthday, I asked her how does she want to celebrate her birthday.  With out blinking her eyes she told me, she wants to go to Hawaii (me and my big mouth).

One of her daughters, who resides in the States celebrated her Golden Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii, Lola saw the pictures and I guess that gave her the idea.  As she obviously wasn't in a travelling condition (yes plus the budget constraints)...

We decided to give her a Luau Birthday Party instead!

She was so prepped and excited.

I was kidding her the whole time, that she should ready her bikini as she is having a Luau Pool Party. 

What's a Luau without water right? So we rented a private resort near our place. 

We ordered a Luau inspired cake with matching themed cup cakes.

My cousin who owns JPJ Food Craze cooked for us,

such  labor or love.

How do you throw a birthday party for a Glam Lola?

My maternal grandmother turned 93 this year and we were all excited to give her a fun party that she and those dear to her would enjoy!

My grandmother is a "kikay lola"! 

She always loved dressing up and making herself pretty, unfortunately life wasn't easy then raising a family of 9 children.  

She would always put off her gratification for her family. 

So on her 93rd birthday, we have decided to give her a surprise "glam" themed party. 

My Lola looks forward to her after Sunday mass trip to Jollibee and since she likes it so much... a Jollibee party was in order.

She thought it was  just another Sunday after mass brunch when we walked in.
