Jibril's Toy Story Themed 3rd Birthday Party

My son is such a Toy Story fanatic. He loves Woody, Jessie and simply adores Buzz!
I was therefore not surprised that he insisted on a Toy Story themed birthday party for his 3rd birthday celebration.
We had our party at the Mc Donald's ValleyGolf (Ortigas Extension) and availed of their Toy Story Birthday Package. They have a play area which I thought was perfect for the children guests, however the parking is a little limited and could be a problem.

The P3000 party fee includes:
- a gift for the celebrant
- 30 invitation cards
- 30 party name hats
- 30 traymats
- 30 balloons
- 30 giveaways
- game prizes
- a character appearance (we had two - Grimace and Birdy)
Unfortunately the cake McDonald's includes in the package is not Toy Story themed and since I wanted to stay true to my theme, I did a little internet research. I found this cool Woody cake from the web and asked my favorite bakeshop to customize a Buzz for me.
Iko's Bakeshop never fails to impress! Iko's Bakeshop have branches in Caniogan, Pasig / SM Megamall Supermarket (contact number 409-1197/468-9583/628-4383).
For my son's Buzz Lightyear costume (which he loves so much and insisted in wearing to bed since we got it), I got on line though Sulit.com.
It was supposed to be a hassle free partying, however, celebrating in a newly opened branch wasn't exactly a good idea. They were obviously undermanned and there seems to be nobody orchestrating the whole thing. To make it worst this branch held two parties together. It was a real riot. I could see the other party's guests unattended without a place to seat. The mother was looking for staff assistance, but there were none in sight. Service was real slow and to think I placed the right number of orders.
My consolation is that my party host was nice and while I was ranting about the poor service, she was simply apologetic and tried her best to appease this monster mother!
Oh well, at least my son had a real blast, playing Buzz!!!

The Good Wife

In the beginning, God made them male and female, the man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.

RESPECT

EPHESIANS 5:33 . . . let the wife see that she respects and
reverences her husband -- that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers
him, venerates and esteems him; and that she defers to him, praises him, and
loves and admires him exceedingly.

Do not belittle, criticize, put down, and nag your husband.

REVERENCE

1 TIMOTHY 3:11 Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

Encourage your husband and build them up with their words

INNER BEAUTY

1 TIMOTHY 2:9-10 ...in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves
in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold
or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing
godliness, with good works.

While not wrong to try and look your best, remember the most important is
your "inner beauty," the fruit of the spirit and the glow of God's presence.

DO NOT DIVORCE

1 CORINTHIANS 7:39 A wife is bound by law as long as her husband
lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she
wishes, only in the Lord.

Divorce is no real solution. It will only substitute a new set of miseries
for the ones left behind. God's best is for you to overcome the problems with
God's help.

DO NOT DEPRIVE

1 CORINTHIANS 7:2-5 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let
each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let
the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife
to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but
the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own
body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another except with consent
for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come
together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of
self-control.

Withholding physical intimacy from your husband as a way of punishment or
revenge is wrong. God desires for you to be a giver as His representative -- and
overcome evil with good.

BE SUBMISSIVE

COLOSSIANS 3:18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in
the Lord.

To submit does not mean to be a doormat. Or, to obey any order no matter what
it is. Submitting is really the opposite of rebelling. Submission is an attitude of
respect -- not necessarily outward obedience.

Max's Corner Bakery

One of my proud finds for 2011 is Max's Brazo de Mercedes.
My family ended in a Max's restaurant for lunch, from a family day activity from my son's school. The cakes looked yummy and we decided to take one out for a try. I ordered a Brazo de Mercedes and was quite surprised at how good it was.
Unlike the usual Brazo de Mercedes from leading bakeries, Max's version is entirely filled up with custard. The cake holds up firmly and doesn't run flat even after cutting through it.
I find it quite a bit creamier and yet less sugary than its counterpartsand at P200 per half roll, I think this one is a steal.
A must taste!

Krispy Kreme Donut

Krispy Kremes (KK) had a special series of donuts for the holiday. My favorite is the Snowflake doughnut. It has smooth custard filling and is topped with premium chocolate and sprinkled powdered sugar shaped like a snowflake.
It is a perfect pair to your KK brewed smooth coffee... this donut literally melts with every sip of your perfectly brewed coffee.
I am just sad to see it go and leave KK shelves last December 31! I wish they would bring it back.
So going to miss my Snowflakes :C

My favorite KK shop is located at Valero 2 Carpark Building, Valero St., Brgy. Bel-Air 1209.
